How we make your ring
first get your stock of very wellseasoned timber:

We cut the wood into planks 35mm wide and 2mm thick.
Next cut them into small squares
We use a small hobby saw bench
Next glue three squares together (I do seven sets at a time
as thats what fits best in the clamps I have
Leave a day then seperate and drill a 5mm hole in each ring
blank
It only has to be roughly in the middle, but it MUST be vertical, we
use a drill in a stand
Next mount it on the mandril that I leave clamped in the jaws
of the lathe
Here it is on the lathe
After turning, put a bit of polish on whilst on the lathe, then remove
Cut out the middle with a sharp knife (it looks messy, but it has been turned
to size
with only a thin section in the middle that is jagged and needs sanding)
Sand down and polish with a dremmel (a craft rotary drill)
